Key Features

Medical-Grade Barrier with Antimicrobial Protection

Constructed from 99% polyester and 1% carbon fiber with a PU coating, this fabric provides a reliable barrier against blood, bodily fluids, and viral penetration, while the antimicrobial treatment inhibits bacterial and viral growth on the fabric surface – reducing cross-contamination risk in clinical settings. Resists repeated industrial laundering and sterilization cycles.

Antistatic & Static-Free Performance

The 1% carbon fiber content ensures permanent antistatic properties, preventing static buildup that could interfere with sensitive medical equipment or cause discomfort in dry clinical environments.

Applications

  • Surgical Gowns

Engineered for operating rooms and sterile environments, delivering high-level barrier performance during surgical procedures – providing reliable resistance to blood, bodily fluids, and viral penetration while allowing surgeons and staff to move freely without restriction.

  • Medical Uniforms & Scrub Suits

Designed for daily wear by doctors, nurses, and clinical staff – combining professional durability with comfort through abrasion resistance and antimicrobial protection for busy hospital environments.

FAQ

Q: Is MED-PU-210T suitable for reusable isolation gowns?

A: Yes, it is designed to withstand repeated high-temperature sterilization at 134°C and industrial laundering, making it ideal for reusable isolation gowns and protective apparel.

Q: What standards does this fabric meet?

A: The fabric can be tested according to ISO 20743 (antimicrobial), ISO 18184 (antiviral), and AAMI PB70 (liquid barrier) upon request. Contact us for specific test reports.

Q: Can this fabric be used for surgical gowns?

A: Yes, when paired with appropriate seam sealing and design, it can be used for surgical gowns requiring fluid resistance and antimicrobial protection. For higher-level barrier requirements, we recommend our MED-PU-230T series.

Q: What colors are available?

A: Any color can be customized. Standard medical colors such as blue, green, and white are available, but we can match any Pantone reference.

Q: Is the carbon fiber visible on the fabric surface?

A: The 1% carbon fiber is integrated into the yarn and may appear as faint dark specks or stripes depending on the weave. It does not affect the overall appearance and provides essential antistatic function.
